Keppana Kellari and Koivula Holiday Cottages

Koivula Holiday Cottages

A cottage holiday in the peace of nature – restaurant within walking distance

Koivula holiday cottages combine privacy, Finnish nature, and the services of Keppana Kellari. Choose a small or spacious cottage, heat up the sauna, spend the day by the lake, and walk over to Keppana Kellari for dinner.

The four Koivula holiday cottages are located in Liesjärvi, Tammela, near Keppana Kellari. Villa-Koivula and Ranta-Koivula are situated right on the shore of Lake Herttuanjärvi, while Ylä-Koivula and Ala-Koivula are approximately 150 meters from the shared beach. All four cottages are suitable for winter use as well. In addition, we have Telkänpesä, Annela, and Saksila in Lohja available for long-term rental.

Standard cottage amenities
Unless otherwise stated, the standard equipment in each cabin includes:

  • electric heating
  • air-source heat pump
  • running cold and warm water
  • electric sauna
  • indoor toilet
  • Fireplace – wood stores are located in the immediate vicinity of the cabins.
  • tv, radio
  • washing machine
  • comprehensive kitchen equipment (fridge-freezer, electric stove with oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and dining and basic cooking utensils for the number of guests)
  • bedding for the number of guests (=duvets and pillows)
  • crib
  • grill
  • A beach and a boat are available for use. Life jackets are not provided by the house—boating is at your own risk. Please also remember that it is never wise to jump—head-first or even feet-first—from an unfamiliar dock; instead, always enter the water carefully, either via the steps or by walking in from the shore.

Remember to bring at least these items:

  • bath towels for everyone
  • bed linen for everyone (= bottom sheet, duvet cover, and pillowcase)
  • Maybe a small hand towel for the kitchen?
  • Maybe a small hand towel for the bathroom, too?
  • garbage bags
  • enough toilet paper
  • paper towels
  • dishwashing detergent (for machine or hand washing)
  • laundry detergent
  • filter papers
  • matches and/or firelighters
  • charcoal and lighter fluid
  • boating vests if you deem them necessary – being on the water is at your own risk
  • mosquito repellent, coils, etc., to drive away any unwanted summer visitors
  • If the destination allows pets, remember to bring along their own toys, blankets, beds, and food bowls too :o)
Other points to note

Guests are required to leave the cottage clean and in the same condition as upon arrival. Bed linen (20 €/person/set, including bottom sheet, duvet cover, pillowcase, and bath towel) and end-of-stay cleaning (100 €) are available for purchase for an additional fee.

If anything breaks or is otherwise damaged during your rental period, please be kind enough to inform the staff—ideally no later than when you check out of the cabin. The staff cannot possibly know about—or fix—defects, breakages, missing items, or malfunctions unless they are reported. Standards of cleanliness are subjective; if you find the condition left by previous guests unsatisfactory, please let us know right at the start of your holiday. There is no need to let your vacation be spoiled by a minor issue or situation that can be easily remedied. Thank you for your cooperation!

In response to customer requests, one pet-friendly cottage (Ala-Koivula) was added to the Koivula properties in 2021; well-behaved pets are welcome there. Our other Koivula properties remain pet-free to accommodate guests with allergies. Our other pet-friendly properties include Majaranta and all our annual rental cottages: Telkänpesä, Annela, and Saksila. Please be considerate of other guests by bringing your pet’s own blankets, bedding, food bowls, toys, etc., and by following the “pet guidelines” found in the cottage guestbook.

Our cottage area does not have a permit to operate as a campsite. Unfortunately, this means that staying overnight in a caravan or motorhome within our grounds or parking areas is not permitted. The nearest suitable locations are the Salkola rest area along Road 2 (approximately 8 km from Keppana) and the Venesilta campsite in Tammela (approximately 15 km from Keppana).

Camping in tents is not permitted either.
