Our opening hours vary; our season runs from February to November. It is wise to call ahead to confirm.
For visitors with limited mobility, please note that the paved path leading from the parking area to the restaurant entrance is uneven and potentially slippery; there is no handrail. The doorway is of standard width and has a small threshold. The restrooms are small and cannot be modified for full accessibility. However, we regularly welcome customers who use mobility aids, and with a little assistance and preparation, these visits have gone very smoothly so far.
Food is available for the hungry, and drinks for the thirsty. You can also purchase alcoholic beverages to take away. A small, rotating selection of cottage essentials is also for sale.
We do not sell tobacco products. There is a smoking area at the far end of the parking lot and a smoking booth on the terrace. Otherwise, we prefer to keep our premises smoke-free.
There is a playground for children in the restaurant’s courtyard.
Only guide dogs are permitted indoors and on the terrace; dogs are not allowed in the restaurant or on the terrace, even if carried in a bag or backpack. Pets can be walked outside the tunnel and away from the immediate courtyard area; the Keppana Gatan and lower parking lot areas offer ample space for exercise and relief. Fresh water is available upon request, and it is also possible to tether dogs in the shade outside the terrace, close to their owners.
To reach the restaurant, drive along Keppana Gatan, which features a tunnel. The tunnel accommodates vehicles up to 2.8 meters in height; taller vehicles must be left at the lower parking area along Liesjärventie.
We do not have electric vehicle charging facilities. The nearest charging points are located approximately 15 kilometers away in the village of Tammela: at the municipal office (Tammelantie 24) and the ABC station (Härkätie 833). You can find more charging stations at www.latauskartta.fi
If you are arriving at a rental cabin, please drive into the restaurant’s parking area and come to the counter. There, you will receive the key and further instructions.
Temporary accommodation on the site—for example, in a caravan, motorhome, or tent—is not permitted. The nearest campsite is at Venesilta in Tammela, and a rest area can be found along Highway 2, a couple of kilometers from the Loukku lunch restaurant in the direction of Forssa.
We have received support from the Vitality Centre for conducting an energy assessment in 2026, which will enable us to increase our operational self-sufficiency and promote green values. The project has received €2,000 in EU rural funding through a Leader group.
Developing our online services with EU rural funding
Keppana Kellari has received EU rural funding for the development of digital communication and marketing through Leader LounaPlussa.
The goal of the project was to improve the customer experience, increase the visibility of our cabins, and boost the occupancy rate of our accommodation services.
As a result of the project, our website has been revamped, the presentation of the cottages has been enhanced with new photographs, and the booking process has been streamlined through the introduction of electronic booking request forms. These improvements make it easier for customers to explore our services and submit booking inquiries.
The project has been implemented with the support of EU rural funding.
The history of Keppana Kellari dates back to the 1990s.
The story of Keppana Kellari began when Heimo Ihamäki started a cottage rental business. Listening to the wishes of their tenants, they decided to convert the ground floor of the main building into a café. Gradually, the business began to grow. Food dishes were added to the menu, the selection of drinks expanded, and something new was introduced every year. Over the years, thanks to the efforts of its founders, the small café evolved into a truly unique establishment.
